TIS tronic 496p master the combustion process depending on user parameter, weather, exhaust sensor and fuel quality. The controller easily adapt to any modern hydronic heating system and combine with domestic hot water, thermal storage, direct feeding, zone mixing design and more. Simply enter the setpoint heating water temperature and the boiler will modulate the combustion to match load. If there is no load the boiler will standby and reignites when needed. The automation with the large capacity hopper provides 4 to 10 days autonomy. The controller also includes functions of circulation pumps, motorize mixing valve, buffer tank, fuel level, summer/winter mode and thermostat feedback.

Pellet Duo is manufactured with the finest certified boiler steel ASTM A106. The wide door openings make easy cleaning of the top heat exchanger, middle loading of biomass and removal of ashes from the bottom. All maintenance is performed from the front and there is no need to unscrew anything else. High-quality multi-layer coating, non-combustible 2" insulation, and thermal protection systems ensure long-term and trouble-free operation.

2023 new boiler

My old wood boiler was getting up in age. I was reluctant to try this as I never heard of the brand. Order it in the spring took a bit to get. Just got it hooked up. Directions are very lacking… mine was a simple set up just running to a coil on the central unit. But if it performs well this year I will probably expand it… also I chose the Duo for the off chance to burn regular wood logs While I plan to mostly run pellets

Pellet Duo 40 Boiler

I am very pleased with my new boiler. It is a well-made little unit and was delivered to me complete and damage free. Two mentionable items. First, I had to swap the wires going to the flame detector, other than that the system started and operated perfectly. Secondly, the design of the hopper is not as advertised on MBTEK website. It is unpainted galvanized metal construction with a slide open lid not a hinged lid. I like the design, no complaints there, I’m only pointing out that it’s not what I thought I was getting.
I’ve been operating the unit for about 3 months with no issues. I went as far as to purchase wood pellets from every big box store around and the unit performs the same using all of them. I have even operated the unit on 100% Cherry Pits, and it operated flawlessly.
The one feature that I was really looking forward to, was the ability to use firewood as a small supplemental heat source. I started a firewood burn twice now, just for fun. It does a good job controlling the solid wood fire. I was pleasantly surprised. My only complaint is that, at the end of the burning, I have to manually switch the unit to pellet mode. I hope that there is a software update (or I figure out how to set it up properly) that it will allow the unit to automatically switch over to pellet fuel after the solid wood fuel burns out.
Lastly, I would highly recommend MBTEK. They have answered several of my questions in a timely manner and are very easy to contact.
