Use estimated coverage guidance as a starting point: 2 Ton: 900-1,500 ft²; 4 Ton: 1,500-2,300 ft². Actual sizing depends on insulation, layout, ceiling height, climate, water temperature, and heat loss.
The 2 Ton model delivers 17,000 BTU of cooling and 24,500 BTU of heating at 250-515 CFM. The 4 Ton model delivers 34,000 BTU of cooling and 45,500 BTU of heating at 500-1,000 CFM. Actual output depends on entering water temperature and fan speed.
No. The Apollo ceiling cassette fan coil unit mounts flush into the ceiling and distributes air in four directions directly from the unit, evenly conditioning the room without any supply or return ductwork. This makes it faster to retrofit than a ducted system while still covering open-plan spaces.
Because a ceiling mounted fan coil unit can't always drain by gravity alone, the Apollo unit includes a built-in condensate pump and water level switch that actively lift condensate out to a drain line during cooling operation, with dual drain outlets for flexible routing.
The remote control and thermostat are not included. The Apollo Ceiling FCU pairs with a compatible 120VAC FCU thermostat (sold separately) to control the 3-speed fan and switch between heating and cooling. Note this differs from Apollo's wall and floor FCUs, which use 24VAC thermostats.
Ceiling fan coil units are heavier, structural installs: the suspension foundation must support a reinforced hanging structure over 200 kg (440 lb), and installation should only be performed by a qualified technician. Plan for at least 39" of clearance on all sides, a ceiling height between 98" and 137", and a level mounting surface to prevent water or air leakage.
The Apollo Ceiling FCU uses 3/4" FPT connections with a PEX adaptor and is available in selectable 2-pipe and 4-pipe variants rated up to 200 PSI. A 2-pipe system shares one hot-or-chilled water loop, while a 4-pipe system uses separate hot-water and chilled-water circuits for system designs that need simultaneous heating and cooling.
The 2 Ton model operates at approximately 43 dB and the 4 Ton model at approximately 45 dB. Power usage is 72W for the 2 Ton model and 128W for the 4 Ton model. Quiet operation makes both sizes well-suited for bedrooms, offices, and hotel rooms.
A ceiling cassette mounts flush into a drop ceiling and discharges air in four directions, making it ideal for open-plan rooms with no exposed unit on the wall or floor. A wall FCU is the fastest simple retrofit. A floor FCU sits low on legs or a wall bracket. A concealed FCU hides above the ceiling with short ducting to grilles for a fully hidden look. Choose ceiling cassette when even 4-way air distribution and a clean ceiling-level finish matter most.
Each unit includes a washable air filter, built-in condensate pump, water level switch, and drain system. You will also need a compatible 120VAC FCU thermostat (sold separately), supply and return piping with 3/4" FPT or PEX fittings, and a qualified technician for the structural ceiling installation.
