The UNI is an indoor wood gasification boiler that burns firewood in two stages: first releasing combustible wood gases from the load, then burning those gases in a secondary high-temperature zone. The heat transfers into water for radiant floors, radiators, fan coils, and domestic hot water loads through a properly designed hydronic system.

Yes. A properly sized UNI can support domestic hot water through an indirect tank or approved hydronic design, alongside space heating. Domestic hot water demand should be sized alongside the space-heating load from the start, since it affects buffer tank sizing and peak output needs, rather than added on afterward.
Many wood gasification boiler systems benefit from a buffer tank because a full wood burn can produce more heat than the building needs at that moment. On UNI, an optional gasification mode is available when the boiler is paired with a buffer tank, which can capture that heat, reduce cycling, and improve comfort when the system is designed correctly.
